It is a cement based liquid floor screed which is self-compacting and gives a smooth and level floor surface. It is used for its rapid application and quick drying properties with minimum after care.
There are various cement based screeds available depending on your needs. As a standard, we recommend 50mm on an insulated floor as a minimum. There are some products we use which allow a minimum depth of just 12mm.
25mm is the minimum requirement over the UFH pipework.
The floor surface will be suitable for light foot traffic between 24 – 48hrs after installation.
Cement based screed does not require any sanding to remove laitance however a light abrasion is recommended to remove any building residue and to create a good key for final floor coverings.
The time depends on the depth of screed applies. As an example, for a 50mm depth screed the maximum time would be 28 days. Screed must be dried to a moisture content of 2.5%CM or a relative Humidity of 75%.
Yes, this should be prior to any tiling being placed. The UFH should be commissioned following the manufacturer’s guidelines and after a minimum of 7 days post screed installation.
It is best practice to prime the floor prior to any adhesives or floor coverings being applied.

Anhydrite Screed is a calcium sulphate liquid floor screed. When mixed with various aggregates, it creates a non-shrink, non-combustible, self-compacting screed which provides a smooth and level floor surface.
There are various anhydrite products depending on your needs. Standard screed is 30mm but there are alternative products which allow a minimum depth of just 12mm.
When using underfloor heating, the minimum screed depth over pipes is 30mm, with the exception of Gyvlon Thermio which is 20mm over the pipes.
The floor surface will be suitable for light foot traffic between 24 – 48hrs after installation.
Yes, sanding is required to remove any laitance and building debris.
The time depends on the depth of screed applies, it dries at a rate of 1mm a day for the first 40mm and then 0.5mm a day thereafter. Screed must be dried to a moisture content of 2.5%CM or a relative Humidity of 75%. If using a fast drying product, the time to dry is reduced by up to 50%.
